push-ups are soooo good!

The infamous push-ups

Charlie holding the evidence!!!

hello

I am really behind in posting. We are so busy and I forget to post. Oh well, we had some very awesome days of warm weather. The boys have worn shorts to school 3 times. Oh were they excited. Now today, we are back in the cooler, rainy weather. It may be awile until the shorts can come out again. We even had snow yesterday! Come on spring, any time now.
I just have to share this story from our weekend. It was Saturday morning and Jack and Charlie wanted to go outside. Jack said he would watch Charlie, so I said yes. I was cleaning up the house, making beds and getting ready for the day, so it was a good idea to get them out. I kept checking on them, sometimes Jack forgets that Charlie is outside with him. Anyway, I checked out my bedroom window, while I was making my bed, and they were playing across the street in the grass. I finished making my bed and looked out again and Charlie was sitting on the grass and Jack looked to be yelling at him. I went outside and Jack was yelling at Charlie and of course Charlie was crying. I asked Jack what was wrong and he said that Charlie had went over to the grocery store and took some push-ups. WHAT!!!!! How did that happen, I asked Jack where the push-ups were and he said he threw them in the trees because he was scared. Jack went over to the trees and sure enough, pulled out a box of twelve push-ups and a single scoobey doo push-up. How in the world did he get over to the store, take 13 push-ups and get back home in such a short time.

I have to back up a little for a minute. We live on a dead end street, so that is why the boys can play in the street and go across the street and play in the grass. Across the street from our house, we have a 3 stall garage, behind the garage is a huge row of trees, behind the trees is our local grocery store. Charlie had no idea the store was right behind our house. Last week, it was nice out, so I decided to walk with him to the store. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! When we got there, I thought to myself, I hope he never walks over here by himself.

On with my story......I asked Charlie how he got the push-ups. He said he used his feet to get up higher and higher. I think he stepped on the bottom ledge of the freezer to grab the box. I asked him if he had money, he said no. I explained stealing to him, of course how much does a 3 year old understand. I was more upset that he walked over to the store by himself, no one must have seen him. Jack went back to the store and paid for the push-ups, he said no one was at the checkout, he had to wait a couple of minutes for a checker. She had no idea what had happened.
Today, I am going to go over and talk to the manager. I tried to call her twice on Sat, but she wasn't in. She will think I am such a great mom, that my 3 year old can get to the store all by himself and I had no idea!

Charlie did get into trouble, he had to come in the house for the rest of the day and he cannot eat any push-ups. I have talked to him a lot about not leaving the yard, or he will not be able to go outside. He loves to go outside. When Paul came home and asked him about it, he said, "Daddy, I got push-ups all by myself, I didn't have any money".
The other boys have never went to the store alone. I haven't even let them go until this year, they run over there and pick up something for me. Charlie hasn't ever went with them. I told him he can only walk to the store with mommy or daddy. It could be a long summer!

hello

It has been a little while since I wrote anything. We of course, have been busy. It is finally getting to feel like spring. The past few days it has been in the high 60's and sunny. Today it is warm, but very windy. We are all doing fine. I can't believe there is only 6 weeks of school left. Will is going to be in middle school next year, boy do I feel old.

We had a very nice Easter. We met Paul's sister Nancy and her family in Bismarck for brunch. it was so yummy. The boys saw the Easter bunny...Charlie was very scared! We were invited over to the Brown's for dessert. Sarah made a very good french silk pie. We decided to go to the movie. So, Sarah, Paul, Jack, Ryan and I went to see Mall Cop. It was a really funny movie and had a good story too. We went back to Sarah's and had left overs for dinner and went home. It was a very relaxing Easter and we got to be with friends and family.

Will isn't feeling good today. Well, actually he has been sick since Sunday night. He has a headache and fever and chills. His headache is getting better, today he has started coughing more. I am going to give him cough medicine tonight. I just hate when the boys are sick. I feel so bad for them and of course, I worry about them too. I did take Will to the pediatrician yesterday. She checked him for strep throat, mono, influenza and a sinus infection. Everything came back negative. She said he just has a bad headcold. It could possibly be mono because I brought him in early, so it may not show up yet. So he is supposed to drink lots of liquids, rest, rest and rest. Hopefully he can go to school tomorrow. He is going to have tons of homework!

I am going scrapbooking this weekend in Bismarck. I am so excited, I want to get a lot done...
I am almost up to 2005. wooohooo.

bye for now
